Part 1 - Before the chat.
A big crowd was expected for this event, and Betsy/Bsquared who owns the palace had been asked for a lot of codes for new people during the past week. New people came in the palace all the time over the previous few days. I estimated the total crowd reached 74 people in the palace! However people were coming and going so the total might have been higher, and Betsy estimated it was about 90. On the other hand, not everyone in the palace went to the chat. The best estimate is probably 70 to 90 people, which is a very very good attendance for chats of this nature.
Here's the gate awhile before the chat is due to begin. For the occasion the wizards were in uniform (i.e. wore their stars). Notice the fantastic sign with Alex pointing to the chakram on the left. That was made by Annie. I'm not sure who made the sign in the middle but it's good too.
As I was going to take photographs, I wore a camera av.
People were encouraged to leave the gate and go into rooms, as a lot were expected. Here are some people gathering in the town. I show Alc my pentax camera av, then show him my pre-1900 camera, which is why he's making that comment.
I wander to the beach to take a photo of some others arriving. As usual people chat about various things. They are chatting at the moment about versions of ICQ as palace members seem to be having a problem with that. (It was a hot topic at the time of the chat.)
I go into town. There's only two people there but they are holding a party. Sally calls me cool! Wow, does she not know me!
Here at the XWP Prop Room, we find the wizard Silvido helping another new member with registration and avatar collection. All the wizards, and regular palace members too, were working hard to help whereever they could.
