Part 7 - Avondale spider......working with crazy Joxer......character interpretation.
Following on from talking about pets, Adrienne talks about the spider she had to 'act with'.
TRANSCRIPT:
Adrienne: Spider- ha!! Its amazing what you will deal with on camera that you wouldn't dream of in real life!!!!
Moderator: Killing Joke says: "You must have conquered many fears then"
Moderator: Jaspar & [[Annie]] says: "*hahah* Big Furry Spidey... smile for the cam , cut .. Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!"
Moderator: Loranna,The_Muse says: "I was wondering if you could explain the spider thing...I'm not sure I understood it..the significance that is. Do you have any insite on that?"
Adrienne: Ya- not so much fears really- a just learning to cope with things as just facets of a scene instead of things you would normally shy away from.
Adrienne: Ya- I had to "play" with an avondale spider in "motherhood"
Moderator: Killing Joke says: "yikes"
Adrienne: It was huge and scary and well...harmless- I just had to accept that- it was really pretty cool- but never something I would normally do- play with a huge spider
Adrienne: Its funny- they never told me about each obstacle until right before I had to deal with it- That was great actually because I didn't have time to worry- Ijust jumped right into the next challenge
Adrienne: If I had knows ahead of time all of the stuff I would do- I would have been terrified- instead it was very empowering- you felt so brave by the end of the day
Just as people are interested in Lucy and Renee, of course people are always interested in Ted. Here Adrienne talks about acting with Ted, and it is clear that, just like Adrienne, Ted is also a very interesting person.
TRANSCRIPT:
Moderator: Vicki says: "What was it like doing the scene where your character kills Joxer?"
Adrienne: It was actually terribly funny!
Moderator: Tessa says: "funny?!"
Adrienne: That sounds awful- but ted is such a cut- up
Moderator: Mel Lemon says: "I bet he was cut up after you killed him"
Moderator: Jaspar & [[Annie]] says: "HAHAH *moan*"
Adrienne: He had this awful make up on- and it was hot- so the make up was melting
Adrienne: ooh- bad joke mel
Moderator: Mel Lemon says: "lol sorry"
Adrienne: anyway- he is supposed to come charging at me and basically run into me- but with the melting make-up he could barely see so he kept tripping and falling and not even making it to me- so we all kept cracking up
Adrienne: and of course I was't in the actual scene where he dies so I never delt with the real emotions of it- my emotions were that of- revenge and good riddance and a little bit of- "see I told you so"
Moderator: Mel Lemon says: "how many takes did it take to finally get the scene, Adrienne?"
Adrienne: until Motherhood of course- thats where I delt with not only Joxers death- but that of so many others that I was responsable fo
Adrienne has been here for an hour, by which time most guests are exhausted. But Adrienne says she is willing to go on for longer, and she seems to be enjoying the chat. Certainly the whole audience is loving it, and there is no sign of the questions drying up. Everyone is very happy Adrienne is talking for longer.
TRANSCRIPT:
Moderator: Adrienne, we have been going for an hour now, there are still about 35 more questions in the hopper...
Adrienne: how many takes- ooh- probably 20 when you count all of the different angles- but that part maybe 5 or 6. It was one thing after another- the blood not coming out of his mouth right- the blood staining his make up- etc- looked easy but wasn't
Adrienne: wow- I certainly don't mind going a while longer
Adrienne: that went so quickly
Moderator: Are you up for a few more or are you ready to call it quits for the evening? It's totally your call.
Moderator: I think I speak for everyone when I say we could do this all night
Adrienne: wow- thanks- lets take some more questions then
Moderator: okay great!
Moderator: ButterCup says: "HOORAY!"

Adrienne talks about interpretation of her character.

Moderator: Kaz says: "how much imput did you have regarding the interpretation of your character?"
Adrienne: Some schools of thought will tell you that the script says it all- so of course I had the script to go by but I actually didn't get too much more specific info
Adrienne: I did get all the info that was required for me to make my own decisions and then I was directed from there
Still talking about her character.

Adrienne: My first week fiming the main direction was BIGGER BIGGER BIGGER
Moderator: Mistress Spear says: "Bigger? "
Adrienne: I'm so used to pursuing subtlty and this was a whole new bal game- so everyone made me feel secure in screaming and yelling- and fightiing and just creating general mayhem\
Adrienne: I felt so 'over the top' but when I watched daily's I realized that was exactly what worked for livia
