Part 1 - Preparations in the Xena Warrior Palace
This is the Xena Palace gate a short while before the chat is about to start. Bsquared (Betsy) who is the palace Goddess, is trying to be helpful as usual, trying sorting out technical problems and making sure everyone is happy.
(BTW the transcript questions are in the order as presented by the moderator. For 'lag' and other reasons, sometimes questions seem to be slightly out of order to the replies, in fact usually they seem to be a few lines earlier than they should. But that's no different to Adrienne finishing talking while another question is being asked.)
The chat is attracting a lot of interest. Many people arrive at the gate. There are some people who have downloaded the palace software specially for this event. Loranna is at the gate, being very helpful to newcomers, telling them how to change their avatar names, and giving other helpful advice to anyone who needs it. Although we were asked to clear the gate to let others come in, so I didn't see all the new people arrive, I'm sure there were other regular palacers who were also trying to be helpful.
Most people seemed to be congregating either in the town, or at the temple baths. I came into the baths to wait for the chat, and there were already a few people hanging about and talking.
Bsquared (Betsy) uses the 'announcement' feature of the palace, to explain to everyone how the chat will be done. The palace 'moderator' will be used.
Rhiannon and some other people in the room who have never used the moderator, are nervous. What if it doesn't work? Do they have the plug-in? I start to explain that sometimes people have had difficulty getting into the moderator, I once missed a whole chat because of it. Way to make everyone feel calm!!! Luckily no-one hears me. The exitement is really growing.
